Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a text file that usually has a unique stamp on it and which, when connecting to a website, is saved on and, on subsequent visits, retrieved from, the user’s computer or computer-like devices such as mobile phones. A cookie is sent from a website’s computer to your browser and stored there, on your hard disk. All websites can send cookies to your browser if your browser settings allow it. Many websites use cookies to keep track of whether the browser has visited the site before. A check is then made on each visit to see whether or not the cookie is stored in your browser. If there is no stored information, the browser will try to save a cookie. By using cookies, the user can thus avoid having to enter the necessary data every time they visit a website. To prevent this information from being misused, websites can only read information from cookies stored by themselves and not from any cookies stored by other websites.

There are two types of cookies. Firstly, (a) a permanent cookie that is stored for a specific (often longer) period of time on the user’s computer, and secondly (b) a session cookie that is temporarily stored in the computer’s memory while a visitor is on a website. A session cookie is thus not stored in the computer for any length of time, but disappears when the browser program is closed or when the user has not been active for some time.

Furthermore, we use Leadfeeder to obtain information about which companies use the website. Leadfeeder uses cookies. MedHelp also uses a small number of other providers, such as HubSpot and Hotjar, who provide services on MedHelp websites. The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority, which is the supervisory authority in this area, provides further information about cookies on its website.

How users can find and control cookies

As a user, you have the option to set whether you want cookies (i) to be saved automatically in your browser, (ii) whether the user wants to be asked every time a cookie wants to be saved or (iii) whether the user does not want any cookies to be saved at all. Please refer to the help function of your browser for information on how to change the cookie settings. The browser can also be used to delete previously stored cookies.
